Sometime while I was at work yesterday, my res got hisself out of the tank. When I got home at 10, could not find him any where, was searching for 3 hours! So I turned up the heat and went to bed. Found him this morning hiding under my desk. Warmed him up in the sink, put em back in the tank. I've never seen a turtle so happy to be back in the tank. lol swimming crazily and everything. yea thought yall should know.. lol :Chez

They are crafty critters. Mines got out a couple of times due to the shady design of the baskig platform. Its currently been fixed with card and electrical tape, but I'll be making the new one escape-proof.
I find they don't tend to injure themselves too much, bits of carpet get stuck to the claws, but thats about it.

Its almost a 5 foot drop from the top of the tank to the carpet, and hes fine, so I'd say you're right :Chez

hey. both my turtles sometimes get out there tank quite frequently actually, due to the fact my basking platform in my old tank was always to the point. anyway, i just put a pillow on the floor where they would land. haha. but prior to this they never seem to injure themselves there like mini tanks,
