i read in a site that it was ok to give your turtles bird supplement (liquid or powder form) i was wondering if it was safe for turtles....thanks

Glad you found us, Miki. I think you're talking about cuttlebone, which is an oval disc thing that is intended for birds. Buuut, it's an excellent source of calcium for turtles. If you decide to get some cuttlebone, you do not have to break it up; just throw the whole piece in the tank. I think that sums it up. [glow=blue,2,300]:Chez[/glow]

Depending on how old your turt is, he might try to use a large bit of cuttlebone to bask on. Will never manage it, but its fun watching him try to climb on top!
