I think that the best commercial food is Mazuri Aquatic turtle food, because of it's ingredients and nutritional facts compared to *shudders* Reptomin are so much better. The food that makes me think, hey I'm really doing something good for my turtles by feeding them this, is carrots, banannas, and cucumbers. And of course elodea. But that's a given lol Agree or diagree? Let's hear it :Chez

The commercial food mine get is King British, which is vegie sticks mixed with krill and shrimp. You can only get it in the UK though I think. He gets this once a week, the rest of the time its vegies and fruit.

I use NutraFin from Hagen or Wardleys as my staple pellet for the turtles.
Its ingredients are fish meal, soy flour, oat flour, wheat flour, shrimp, kelp, fish liver, and yeast.
Otherwise they get next to anything that comes out of the fridge, strawberrys, bannanas, appes, grapes and worms. Yes it comes out of my fridge ... my ole man is a year round fisher.

thanks to Jinx's post my 2 turtles are happily devouring grapes. I had never thought to try them on normal fruit and veg before, they've been costing me a fortune in aquatic plants!!! I've never seen them so excited over non live food before!!! The little guy was swimming up and down the tank with it for about 5 mins before he worked out what to do with it!!! ;D How much should I give though, I dont want turts with poorly tummys? And no it is turtle pellets .... but he does like eating flakes too sometimes ... the pig. Jinx

The only thing about grapes, strawberries, etc sweet fruits is the glucose.. it depends on your turtles size, how big are they? :Chez

Good to her touie ... did the turtle spit out the skin? Mine do, wont eat it.
I cut mine in half and feel that way.
My 7-8 incher gets 2 every now and then, my feeding is not on a schedule....lol

I put 4 little grapes in and they ate every bit!!! One turtle is 5" and the other 3". I have also tried them on a bit of carrot and spring greens but they've showed no interest in those!!!

A lot of turtles will resist green things at first.. you just have to keep trying, eventually they should eat them :Chez
