I have a map and a yellow bellied slider. Their tank is all set up with the exception of plants. I deffinitly want some greenery in the tank but I'm not sure what will work. Basically what i'm looking for are plants that will grow with minimal care in gavel (or nothing) that are safe for the turtles to eat and/or plants that they won't eat. If anyone could shed some light here I'd really appretiate it. I have tried numerous web sites and books yet have found no specific examples.
Thanks, Wam

Welcome to the forum, Wambli. There's a list of plants that all turtles can eat on our General Care section, under Feeding guide. I'm not too experienced with plants because my little guys just annihilate any plants that I put in the tank.
Anyone else have some ideas for us? [glow=blue,2,300]:Chez[/glow]

Yes I've given up with live plants, they are gone within a couple of hours! I have some nice silk ones instead now!

Yes, plants rarely survive with turtles, whether they eat or rip it, they always ruin it....lol.
I add live water plants once a month (and tropicals in summer; lke hyacinth and water lettuce.
And HORNWORT is the clear winner when it comes to durability. Ifind they tend to eat it less....it gets bashed up, but not eaten as often or as quickly.
Tried fake plants, just didnt like them.
