Here's mine: a room in my house, large, with a big pond in the middle. wall-to-wall grass around the pond. glass ceiling that opens to allow the sunlight to enter unfiltered. a boulder or two. I'd have it inside for a couple of reasons.. First, the turtles would be safe from predators. They also wouldn't be able to escape, but they'd have loads of room to wander about. I'd also be able to keep the room warm, especially during the colder months. How about that?

I have a alcove in my front room that measures 6ft by 3ft by the height of the room (approx 12ft). I want to build a tank that fits perfectly and is 5ft tall. This would be filled to the brim almost.
On top of this I would build a glass-fronted vivarium that reached to the roof, there would be a floor area 2ft wide between the two, with ramps on either side down into the water so the turtles can get out.
I would fix branches etc upwards from the floor area spreading throughout the rest of the cage and keep water dragons.
It would look amazing, fish, turtles, water dragons all in the same tank, and they should be OK together too

That sounds really cool. You sure about the dragons tho, they can get vicious. Might try to get after the turts.. altough the turt should notice a lizard lunging at its face and jet back into the water.. still.. ooh you'd need some killer filtration for that :Chez

yeah totally! The dragons won't go after anything over 6",. I'd be using two or three big pond pumps.
Not ever likley to happen tho...

You should check out www.austinsturtlepage.com he has an 800 gallon pond, looks amazing in his garden just for his turtles... My dream tank setup would be a 250 gallon tank... one side a large drifwood, for basking, and to allow room under to swim, various plants in there also, id have to filters on either side, heaters, lights, maybe one day, tanks are cheap in the uk. i could get one for only about £150, compared to usa i think there crazy prices... i think

how much is (symbol)150 in U.S.$? At PetSmart, a 150g tank costs $450.. maybe it's cheaper to get one from the UK and ship it here.. :Chez
