Well guys, I have been away for some time, but I wanted to ask your opinion on something.
I am planning to build a nice lid of some sort for my tank to replace the ugly and annoying screen that I have right now.
My first step is going to be to determine what lighting to install in the lid. The tank is not huge (only 1'*4' approx) so the amount of lighting required is not huge.
I was thinking: 2 36" flourescent bulbs to cover all area except where the basking spot is located. One of these bulbs will be a good UVB bulb (Reptisun or whatever) and the other will be a regular flourescent aquarium bulb.
1 heat lamp (probably 50 watts, located about 8" from the basking area)
1 heat source for night time (not sure about this exactly but it gets chilly here some times and it would be nice to have a heat source over the basking area for night)
Anyone have any thoughts?
Steve
