Hey does anyone have an area in their tanks thats completely non-aquatic, ie, a seperate land area but not a basking spot? I'm trying to get ideas on how to give turtles a place to lay eggs in a tank. [glow=blue,2,300]:Chez[/glow]

I knew a guy who kept RES and water dragons together, he had used pond-liner to create the pool (it was BIG) and built a big cage round it. The pool was sunken into the land area leaving about 4sq feet of land which he covered in bark chips.
The way I wanted to do it was to build a whole wooden vivarium with sliding glass doors etc, but with a hole in the floor at each end, then you can put a plexi-ramp down from these, sit it on top of the tank.
Suppose it all depends how much space you need!

I've seen ledges on tanks or platforms, Sometimes above the tank other off the the side.
Normally it looked like braces on the side of the tank (not over water) with the platform or wood or box on that.
Not sure i am explaining right. You know shelves on the wall, that have like braces or brackets that look like "L"'s underneath holding up the shelf. Imagine a fish tank with a box off to the side of the tank not over water.
Anyways he threw some dirt and plants in there, and that was the nesting area.

ive been trying to do that. cuase if its like ontop of the tank on the side... then it give the turlts much more space to swim with little obstacles the. they got a bit space to sit, sleep.(my map sometimes sleeps at night on the log i have) so i must get round to building one. if any1 has mpics of setups please send them in
