Hi i'm new here in the forums....i'm planing to get a turtle just one though,a red ear slider.
i have a few questions in mind and i'm hoping people can help me:
1)i was wondering if a ten gallon tank was ok to start off because i have two ten gallons because i used to keep fish one taken , my hamster is occupying..i also have a five gallon, but i think that's too small...
2) i read a lot about turtles (lots of research) but i'm not too clear on how to clean the tank, do you haul the tank all the way to the washroom or just clean half the water....
3) is it illegal to sell turtles under 4 inches in canada?
well that's all for now thank you for all opinions and answers =)

*already welcomed you in your other post * lol 1- it depends- if it's a hatchling, then a 10g's ok, temporarily (like 6 months, at the most.) 2-I use a gravel vac, minus the vac part, and siphon the water out when I'm doing the monthly cleaning. I take out all of the "furnishing"- which by the way, I got a Turtle Dock, and the things are AWESOME! Sorry.. Yea take them out, siphon the water, spray tank with clean water and wipe it down. 2a-I do a 25% water change every week. (drain 25%, replace with new) 3-I don't know what you Canadians do ;D. That'd be a question for Jinx, that is, if she would ever post (hint hint ;D) [glow=blue,2,300]:Chez[/glow] Turtle Dock= ;D;D;D

Hello Miki and Welcome .....
I'm here Chez...lol....Got the newletter....hehehe....the whole forum seemed to have died on me.....it went really really quiet around here....smiles....awesome to see its not.
As for Canadian laws, no we do not have the 4inch law here, but are affected by it in the sense of shipping it to the states, as it is "illegal' for them to own it. But i could sell you a hatchling under 4" with no legal repercussions.
Hope that helps
