Hello again!
My two turtles just recently went to the vet, and everything was fine (thank goodness!) Well, for the past weeks, they have been shedding their scutes and it just keeps going. They are also shedding their skin. Their water is steady between 76 and 80 Degrees, and they have all the extras in their tank (i.e. UVB light, heat lamp, filters, etc) The water is also clean. What could be wrong??
Thanks, turtledudeusa

What is the temp of your basking spot? If it is too hot it can cause your turtle's skin to shed often.

Hey there
There are normally two reasons for excess shedding....to warm of temperatures (but yours sound fine for the water) and overfeeding.
So what is your feeding schedule ;D

The temperature in the basking area is about 90 degrees. Overfeeding is probably the reason for their over shedding. I feed them about 1/2 leaf of lettuce or some other fruit/veggie a day, and 6-10 RetoMin Floating Food Sticks. I know that they need to have a variety of foods, but I really don't know how much to give them in the way of fruits and veggies. They are two years old, and are a little over 2 inches in length. I usually feed them everyday.
