Hey all
I take in older RES in Canada....and even then they have normally been up for adoption for awhile, before they find their way to me.....and well, one has just recently...A 15yr old and I hope I get him....I do. Younger ones are easier to find homes for; full grown adults almost never do
Just sharing....lol

I too dont have the space or I would have thirty or forty turtles around here.....lol That is why I limited myself to older and very sick. Its pretty sad to say, not many out there that are past 5-8 years of age that are pets .

I know, it really sucks.
Hopefully from next summer I will be doing part-time rescuing in an outdoors pond (its only warm enough to keep them outdoors in summer here, and then only adults). I know a guy from about 250 miles away who runs a large rescue agency. I'll be rescuing in my local area and he'll come up at the end of the summer and collect them all to take to his sanctuary.
It saves him time/money coming north all the time, and means I don't have to set up loads of expensive tanks to keep them through the winter.

Well I got the email today and I go pick him sometime during the week....just waiting on some pics and some more information regarding his history.
He has been up for adoption for almost 6 months....everyone who contacted him wanted smaller turtles.....but now he has anew home and will get a new name and a new start.....the turtle doesnt look "abused" or sick, perhaps kept in a tad to small tank....but I think the owner did pretty good for himself and has been patient enough.....lol.
Oh I am so excited, I am hopping about in my seat....lol
